Vendors In the Valley – Down on the Farm!
Saturday, September 7, 2024 Vendors in the Valley will be held at Wildwood Acres Park in Verdigre. The event is from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Door Prize drawings will be held every hour! A few new activities have been added to this event, along with a variety of vendors selling a wonderful array of handmade items, home-baked goods, produce, and items from their home-based businesses. Rhonda’s Restaurant will be serving breakfast burritos, hamburgers, hot dogs, loaded sausage, and pork nachos. The Verdigre Youth Sports League will be selling iced tea, lemonade, soft drinks, and sports drinks.
There will be a few new activities and games for kids (of all ages) to test their strength and skills! At 11:30 a.m. there will be a “Husband Calling Contest” followed by a “Mom Calling Contest”. This is the perfect time for kids and the ladies to display their strong voices and wonderful abilities to get others’ attention! The games will be played from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. There will be time for the kids to play the corn, a coin dig in the corn at 1:30 p.m., a fun fishing game with prizes, and a ring toss game. A couple of fun games of skill for all ages to test their critical thinking will be played as well. A hay bale throwing contest will be held for all ages (from the young to the young at heart) with a variety of weight divisions. Coach Shabram and a few other volunteers will be helping to coordinate this fun event. Herbert Feed and Grain and the Verdigre Vanoce Committee have donated a fantastic variety of prizes! We will have a few animals coming to town for a little petting farm. Roy Gerkins will be bringing a team of horses for guests to take a wagon ride! Christine Cook will be bringing a goat, a mini horse, and a mini donkey; as well as possibly her pet turkey! Krista Podany will be bringing a couple of fluffy-headed chickens and a guinea. Stacy Kreycik Miller will be reading her book Suzie Saves The Day at 1:00 p.m. As of press time, there are additional activities being planned!
Bring your family and friends down to Wildwood Acres Park and enjoy a fun-filled day. You will be back home in time to watch Husker Volleyball at 2:00 p.m. and Husker Football at 7:30 p.m.
